Davis-Standard to Exhibit Extruder Versatility at NPE

Davis-Standard, LLC will exhibit three of its most versatile extruder models with improved control technology during NPE. The extruders on display include a 2 ½-inch (60mm) Super Blue® with a DS-eTPC touch-panel control system, an HPE-150A and HPE-125H.

The DS-eTPC provides a touch-panel solution to replace discrete temperature controllers, temperature indicators, pressure indicators, pressure controllers, drive operators and drive indicators. The DS-eTPC includes a 12.1-inch color touch-screen with built in PLC processor, subpanel mounted multi-loop temperature control, and PLC I/O modules required for the system.

The Super Blue is used primarily for profile applications, but is also an efficient option for fiber, specialty system and sheet processors. One of the greatest advantages of the Super Blue is its fast delivery timeline of as little as two weeks from the order date. Davis-Standard has had much success in exceeding delivery expectations by completing the electrical, mechanical, parts assembly and testing procedures in as quickly as one week. The Super Blue is available in sizes from 2 inches (50mm) to 4 ½ inches (90mm), and is equipped with preferred features including a low noise, high torque double-reduction gearbox; cast aluminum finned heaters bolted to the barrel; an AC drive and motor; and high capacity air cooling system. It is standard with a three-year warranty and is available with a wide range of DSB® barrier screw designs.

The compact HPE (high performance) extruders for co-extrusion and multi-layer applications also come with a fast delivery. As with the Super Blue, these extruder models can be delivered in as little as two weeks. Davis-Standard will display these machines in an adjustable vertical and horizontal configuration. Both types utilize a direct drive motor and a smaller footprint to allow close proximity to the common die. The HPE adjustable model enables the extruder to swivel on one column to allow positioning at any angle with an easy lift-screw vertical adjustment. All sliding/swiveling components can be locked firmly in place for rigid positioning. The HPE horizontal model base centerline height can be adjusted to plus or minus a ½-inch (13mm). Both models are available in ¾-inch (20mm), 1-inch (25mm), 1 ¼-inch (30mm), 1 ½-inch (40mm), and 1 ¾-inch (45mm) sizes.
