Davis-Standard, LLC Opens New Office in Northeast Ken Sweet Announced as Engineering Manager-Northeast
Davis-Standard, LLC is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The Northeast office will feature personnel representing both the extrusion and converting businesses of Davis-Standard.
According to Charles Buckley, President and CEO of Davis-Standard, LLC, the new office allows the company to increase its presence throughout the northeast and tap into the engineering and sales talents of the area. “Opening an office in Gloucester for experienced engineers and sales professionals is one more example of our ability to invest in future growth.” Buckley added, “In spite of the turmoil in the financial markets, we continue to grow through market share gains and continuous global expansion.”
The engineering and sales capabilities of Davis-Standard’s Extrusion Systems and Converting Systems groups will be strengthened in the new location. Extrusion Systems will focus on extruders, sheet systems, foam systems, feedscrews, and dies. The group also offers systems for elastomer, fiber, profile, reclaim, specialty and laboratory processes. Wire and cable systems along with the Merritt brand will continue to be based out of the company’s headquarters in Pawcatuck, Connecticut.
The Converting Systems group will strengthen its resources that support its cast film, blown film, liquid and extrusion coating product lines. Under the well known brands of Black Clawson Converting Machinery, Egan and ER-WE-PA, Davis-Standard Converting Systems has a worldwide network capable of building and supplying machinery serving the flexible web converting industries as well as extrusion pelletizing and industrial blow molding industries.
In conjunction with the announcement of the office opening, the company is announcing that Ken Sweet has joined the company in the position of Extrusion Systems Engineering Manager-Northeast. He will be responsible for day-to-day operations in the new office. Sweet comes to Davis-Standard with 25 years of experience, most recently as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Prior to that position, he was an Engineering Product Manager for Battenfeld Gloucester Engineering in Gloucester, Mass. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., and is currently working on his MBA.
